The Masbate City police headed by Chief Inspector Edwin C. Adora said village head, Allan Nuñez Marcos, 36, and his 64-year-old mother, Purita, died instantaneously.
Marcos’ wife, Analyn, and daughter, Alily, sustained multiple bullet wounds. They were brought to the Masbate Provincial Hospital.
Witnesses said that shortly before midnight Sunday, three unidentified men managed to get inside the Marcos house. Several gunshots were heard before the men were seen scampering away to different directions.
Adora said the motive for the massacre is still unknown but political angle is being considered.
Masbate police director Superintendent Jacinto Culver Nasol Sison has formed a Special Investigation Task Group to probe deeper into the massacre of the Marcos family. (Niño N. Luces)
