Police on Saturday morning arrested a wanted person allegedly involved in at least 12 kidnapping cases since 2003.
Senior Superintendent Leonardo Espina, chief of the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response, said Edgardo Ferolino Renate, who uses the aliases King and Nonoy, was arrested by PACER agents from his hideout in Mobo town, Masbate province around 5 a.m.
Espina said Renate, who has a P170,000 bounty on his head, was arrested by virtue of two warrants of arrest issued by Davao and Quezon City regional trial courts for at least three kidnapping-for-ransom cases.
The PACER chief said Renate is also involved in 12 kidnapping cases from 2003 to 2007 and a murder case in Masbate province.
Espina said Renate is the 15th kidnapping suspect to be arrested by PACER this month.
The suspect is now being interrogated in Masbate province.
